I’m literally blown away by how good this lens is. I was after a super-tele for my D800. Initially I looked at (possibly like many Nikon owners first choice) the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR. However, after doing some research the Sigma seemed to stack up very favourably, and with some greater flexibility. I haven’t tried the Nikon lens, but given the price differential, I felt it was worth giving the Sigma a go.Despite the many glowing reviews, I wasn’t quite expecting the image quality & super-fast auto-focussing that the 150-600 provides. Images really are super sharp (certainly, it is worth experimenting with aperture settings) – but on a nice sunny spring day, subjectively I cannot perceive much difference in quality of the images produced, between this and my go-to ‘Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 FX AF-S G ED’.The ability to attach to the Sigma USB dock (~£39) adds another dimension to the lens’ features.Assigning ‘Dynamic View Mode’ to one of the custom settings really makes auto-focus amazingly quick – even on full reach. Again, I really was not expecting this level of performance.This is an absolute steal and really should be considered before opting for the native equivalent.

…is immeasurable and my day is ruined. I ordered this lens with the converter kit for Nikon. I had it delivered via the next day option, excited to be able to get out and put it through it’s paces as I absolutely love another Sigma I have (105mm 1:2.8 DG Macro HSM OS). I received a notification that the item was on it’s way but due to the size or value of the item I would have to give the driver a password to receive the package. So I waited around all day for the delivery refreshing the tracking page to ensure I wouldn’t miss it. Finally, the driver arrives, the box is in perfect condition, everything looks great and it is then that I see it: I have been sent the kit with the Canon converter. This will not fit the F mount on the Nikon. I am dismayed, despondent, depressed – all the daydreams dancing through my head of finally getting some good shots of those damned ducks at a distance were shattered. I will now have to console myself with a walk around the park armed only with my camera and some lenses that are decidedly not of the comically large variety.

タムロンの150−600mmレンズから乗り換えで購入。持ってみた感じ、タムロンより少し重いが、三脚なしで問題なく持ち歩ける。普段、野鳥撮影で使用しているが、AFのスピードも申し分なく、またピントがバッチリ。小鳥や背景とのコントラストが少ない鳥の撮影でもAFがしっかりしているので、画像をトリミングしても画質問題なし。しかし、テレコンバーター1.4を使用すると 600mmの状態ではF値が9になってしまい、AFのスピード、ピントが弱くなってしまう。小鳥等の撮影はテレコンバーターなしで行った方が良さそう。

Il est lourd mais on le sait, pas moyen de faire autrement.Avec mon D7500 ils se sont compris tout de suite et moi je suis ravi.Photo prise à environ 35m, sans pied.Je l’ai acheté pour faire de la photo animalière et je ne suis pas déçu !

Obbiettivo che sognavo da tempo, per il mio 40 me lo sono regalato ed è stato subito stupore. Nella confezione ho 3anche il moltiplicatore 1.4 ma ho visto che cade un po la qualità dell’immagine per lo meno su apsc. Comunque con questo obbiettivo finalmente riesco a fotografare animali che non si fanno avvicinare. Unico difetto che é quello che dicono tutti e che l’anello per il treppiede é piccolo, io ho avviato al problema comprando una piastra per la testa del treppiede piú lunga così da bilanciare il peso.
